Modular Sofa by Dogtas Design Team Wins A' Design Award

The Dogtas Design Team has meticulously crafted the Livorno sofa, drawing inspiration from the tranquil experience of lounging on a grassy meadow. This innovative furniture piece embodies the harmony of natural elements, featuring green flame velvet fabric, boucle cushions, and accents of brown-toned leather that echo the earthy balance of soil, tree bark, and grass. Livorno's design philosophy is rooted in the concept of natural stone structures, allowing for various configurations that cater to individual preferences and spatial requirements.

What sets Livorno apart is its luxurious blend of comfort and design. The deep seating and ergonomically supportive backrest invite users to immerse themselves in a seating experience that is difficult to leave. The nature-inspired tones and tactile green velvet fabric infuse living spaces with a sense of coziness, while the combination of wood and leather materials enhances the overall aesthetic. Constructed on a robust wooden frame with heavy-duty elastic belts, Livorno boasts a 32-density foam and snake-spring layer combination that delivers a supremely soft seating experience. The use of top-quality flame velvet fabric accentuates the sofa's tactile appeal, complemented by faux leather and boucle cushions that enrich the living area with diverse material textures. Designed with modularity in mind, Livorno addresses transportation challenges and empowers users to create their personalized sofa arrangements.

The Livorno Sofa's dimensions are 3250mm in length, 1000mm in depth, and 825mm in height, reflecting its spacious and inviting nature. This modular sofa can transform into a corner sofa, a 3-seater, or a 4-seater, adapting seamlessly to various interior designs and meeting diverse customer needs. The project, which began in September 2023 in Istanbul, culminated in December 2023 and was showcased at the Istanbul Furniture Fair in January 2024.

Behind Livorno's creation was a dedicated research process that focused on asymmetrical lines and exclusive comfort. The Dogtas Design Team, including Gizem Bilkay and Begüm Özkahraman, sought to craft a sofa that would not only serve as an impressive centerpiece but also meet ergonomic demands for comprehensive body support. Achieving the perfect balance of form, comfort, and modularity posed significant challenges, but the team's commitment to innovation and quality resulted in a product that stands out in the furniture design landscape.

The Livorno Modular Sofa has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Furniture Design Award in 2024, a testament to its well-designed, practical, and innovative nature.
